Carolina Patiño has a long term commitment to understanding and interpreting the world through all the arts, especially those related to audiovisual, film and music. She enjoys being a consultant for the narrative design of documentaries focused on social ethics for the peaces and videos that explore themes about arts, interculturality and sustainable development. She completed an MA in TV Documentary Production and a PhD in Media and Arts at the University of Salford, UK. She works as a researcher at CMAPAZTOLIMA and as a research fellow in the Research on Audiences and Social Imaginaries on the Culture of Peace, sponsored by the Colombian Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Knowledge.” She is a member of the StoryLab International Film Development Research Network and the NetCapaz Network of the Colombo-German Peace Institute-CAPAZ. She is the leader of the itinerant place called: Centro de Memoria Audiovisual para la Paz del Tolima-CMAPAZTOLIMA- (Audiovisual Memory Center for the Peace of Tolima), focused on the realisation of audiovisual workshops around the construction of peace narratives and other therapeutic workshops, related to take advantage of the benefits of art therapy, music therapy and docutherapy in the psychosocial recovery of the victims of the armed conflict in Colombia.
